Colors Fall

This weekend was action packed. Saturday, trekking 2 temples　(#84 Yashima and #85 Yakuri) of the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage, helping with a high speed 30 minute tour of Ritsurin Gardens in Takamatsu, Kagawa.　Sunday, first full marathon (3:47). All while surrounded by nature watching the changing fall colors fall.

この間の週末は充実！　土曜日に四国の88箇所巡りの84番の屋島寺と85番の八栗寺に行って、栗林公園の30分の高速ツアーの案内をした。日曜日にデビューのフルマラソンを完走した （3時間47分）。ずっと自然の中にいながら、色が変わっていく紅葉が落ちてるの見てた。

"I'm a Coyote!"

A photography teacher at UW-Madion always said, "Don't take pictures, MAKE pictures."
That's the only thing I learned from him in 3 years of study, but I think of it every time I take pictures.
On the other hand, he once told me, "You can't outsmart me because I'm a coyote."
Weirdo!


ウィスコンシン州立大学の写真部の教授の口癖は『写真を撮るんじゃなくて、積極的に写真を造るん』だった。(意味は、消極的に写真を撮るより、監督的に人やものを動かしたりした方がいい写真になる。）　
3年間の勉強で、彼にそれしか学べなかったが、今でも、写真を撮るときにいつもそのアドバイスを思い出す。
一方では彼があるとき僕に『お前が俺を出し抜くんは出来ない。俺はコヨーテだから』も言ってしまった。

Shooting you shooting me

9 days off = happy. This first few days of the long break were busy. Triathlon, campfires, and multiple udon tours. A friend came from Tokyo and trouble was made. I met some cool kids in Kochi and got a great tour of the Sawada Mansion, a crazy DIY hotel like building that keeps growing and growing.

I was asked to be a hair model and enter a competition last month. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being a great experience.

Takamatsu is great.
The new job is busy and I want more free time. I haven't posted in a while but I'm going to do a quick dump of the last 2 months in photos.

Shamrock bar is run by a friend Hide (pronounced "he-day"). It has a super nice atmosphere and he invited me to take a couple shots of the bar.







There will be an international art festival held on Kagawa's islands in the Seto Inland Sea in 2010. Part of my job is to assist artists on tours of the locations.










And of course summer doesn't exist without fireworks and festivals.

Goodbye田舎☆Leaving the sticks

I'm moving again. This time to Takamatsu. I wanted to live there from the beginning but ended up in a very rural part of Kagawa. After 3 years teaching English it's time to move on. Here are some recent film shots of my neighborhood. I will miss the inaka in many ways.

また引越し。今回高松へ。来日してから高松に住みたかったけど、香川の超田舎に住むようになった。3三年間英語を教えて、今から次のステップへ行きます。今回の写真はフィルムのカメラで撮った僕の近所。田舎の色々なことがさびしくなるかもしれない。

この間の日曜日、高松で素晴らしい結婚式を撮影しました。本当に暑かったけど、スムーズに行いました。全部の写真はここにあります。
